The Lighthouse Sports and Social Hub is beautifully located on Dovercourt seafront. A family run business offering a full range of sports and fitness activities for the whole family. We have a large outdoor skating rink and lots of activities for the whole family. Sit back and relax while the kids are kept entertained. We offer hot and cold foods, drinks and the best ice cream!!! Our Gelato Milkshakes are very popular in the summer. We offer free use of our bouncy castle, bikes and trikes and now have a small baby and toddler area. We charge £7 for kids roller skating and £8 for adults which can be paid at reception.
Our opening hours vary throughout the year due to being mainly outdoor focused activities. Summer time we are open 7 days a week.

☕️ Food and Drink Services 🍔
We have an outdoor food hut (summer holidays) and inside cafe area (all year round) serving a range of hot or cold food and drinks. Why not make the most of our brand new bean to cup coffee machine too. We have the very popular ice cold slushies and Gelato ice cream.
Sit back and relax and make use of our bar area. A favourite for those hot summer days has to be the ice cold gin berry slush. Especially nice relaxing on the sun trapped wave area.
We offer afternoon teas, buffets and private party bookings. You can trust us to supply you with the best services, as well as top quality customer service.

Summer Party 2025 will be the 3rd August. We also have a big FREE community event on the 24th August.

🎨 Half Term Holiday Clubs 🏀
Thanks to our partnership with Active Essex and the Department for Education at Essex County Council. We are able to offer funded holiday club spaces for primary aged children eligible for benefit based free school meals or low income families at The Lighthouse, as well as SEND specific clubs.

What is park play ???
It’s active and inclusive - all generations play together. It’s a FREE, safe, welcoming and inclusive way for people to connect and have fun. Everyone’s invited.
It’s a space to play; to muck about with family and friends. It’s a place for friendships, old and new, and a time to create, play and imagine, together. Everyone should feel welcome, never judged, allowing ParkPlayers to grow in self belief.
Kangoo Jumps
Kangoo Jump Rebound Shoes are an amazing and safe approach to cardio and core muscle work. It saves your joints and improves your endurance for all fitness activities. It is also a great way to train runners to strengthen and lengthen their stride. These sessions are offered through holiday clubs, ParkPlay and other set activities

Gary and Bridie Stanford
In 2016 Husband and Wife Gary and Bridie Stanford set up a fitness business called GBFitness and Nutrition with a small fitness studio in Harwich to support people lead a healthy active lifestyle. In 2020 an opportunity came up for the business to expand into helping even more people in the community with The Lighthouse Sports and Social Hub. Opening in May 2021 for the whole family to come along and take advantage of the beautiful space, sports, social activities and so much more. Since opening The Lighthouse 4 years ago it has expanded into opening Family Activities Community Engagement Support UK CIC (Facesuk cic) and now has 2 other directors Ellesha Lines and Paige French. We are now able to offer even more support to the community by offering food support, SEND support, FREE activities and more...

Carrol - Manager
Carrol has been part of the team from day 1, getting her hands dirty in all the renovations to transform the skating rink. As your manger Carrol strives to make sure everyone has the best experience on there visit to The Lighthouse sports and social hub. Anything you need she is here to help.
Ellesha - Senior Events Coordinator and SEND Coordinator
Since joining The Lighthouse Sports and Social Hub, Ellesha has been the rock to the running and facilitating of the children’s activities. She will be your contact for organising children’s events and parties and is a great role model to all the children. The kids absolutely love her and she makes them all feel so welcome. Ellesha is now our SEND Coordinator supporting children and parents with any additional needs.
Paige - Holiday Club Leader and Youth Coordinator
Paige is an asset to the team with her all round skills, she has grown with us as a Team to deliver all round quality and care to every role that she fulfils. You will likely see Paige running the kids activities, she’s amazing with them. Paige has now taken on the role in supporting our Teens at Teen Time which runs every Saturday evening.
